How to use lighting to secure your home.

Did you know that the FBI reports a home burglary occurs every 16 seconds? There are several steps you can take to discourage thieves. One of those is to make sure your homes are lighted properly. You can make it harder for robbers to break into your home at night undetected with strategic lighting. Lighting near possible points of entry like windows and doors will be a practical deterrent for unwanted visitors.

Building for a Cure

We are so excited to participate in this worthy project! More than 50 companies and individuals contributed to “Build for a Cure”, organized by Gale Custom Homes. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives was pleased to donate the outdoor lighting for this home. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G Komen foundation providing support and research for breast cancer patients. For a small donation, the house will be open to the public on June 21, from 2pm-4pm.

New Beginings….

Prepping for outdoor fun!
Prepping for outdoor fun!

It seemed it would never arrive, but now there are glimpses.  It is a time of new beginnings…for us at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives as the new owners.  For you, as you emerge from under the winter cover of more snow than we have seen in a decade!   It feels promising doesn’t it.  It was quoted by character Lewis Grizzard in Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You “Springtime is the land awakening.  The March winds are the morning yawn”  Looking around with a March yawn, I begin to see my list…spring cleaning, garden prep, and upkeep of my home.  Long as the list may seem, my heart is light with the ideas of emerging to enjoy my outdoor living spaces! As you start your list, remember we can help you with your spring lighting needs…removal of the winter debris, servicing of your lights (even if it is not our system) or our nighttime demonstrations can help you prepare for the entertaining in the months ahead.

As we begin to blog, we will share with you tid bits we pick up along the way.  Our favorite recipes for the family cookout, ways to extend your home into the outdoor and fun entertainment ideas. So feel free to stop by and visit for awhile!  Speaking of visiting…make sure to find us at the Central Kentucky Home, Garden and Flower Show on March 27-30th. Our very own Tom Caywood will be speaking on the Celebrity Stage Friday night, with great lighting tips and information.
